Forever Hope, Forever Homes Fall Community Meeting on November 9th

Join FHFH, Hope Chapel’s orphan care group for their Fall community meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Lighthouse on Sunday, November 9th. You’ll have opportunity to hear This Kid’s Flipped His Lid: An Introduction to Trauma-Informed Care, a seminar that delves into the brain’s reaction to trauma, the risk factors that leave kids vulnerable to trauma, and the connecting and correcting techniques that can bring about their healing. If you are a teacher, a parent, or a volunteer who works with or hopes to work with children who have come from hard places or experienced any kind of trauma, you’ll want to hear this teaching.

RSVP to Nikki Sheffield to join the evening. Child care is available by reservation also; the deadline to RSVP for child care is Wednesday, October 29th.

  2. One 10:00 a.m. Service this Sunday, October 19th

The Women’s Retreat is this weekend and there will be fewer of us than normal so we’re meeting all together at 10:00 a.m. this Sunday, no 11:11 a.m. Service. Kid’s classes begin at the beginning of the service. And there are no Hope 101 classes this week.

  3. 8 Minutes Max on Saturday, October 11th

8MM is an intimate, responsive venue for artists to present their works and receive audience feedback, and for all to enjoy soaking in a creative atmosphere. And the next one is October 11th from 6-8:30 p.m. Performance spots are still open; contact Kevin Daniel to sign up or for details. The evening is also a potluck so bring a reception-style dish or dessert.

  4. Forever Hope, Forever Homes – come tonight, Sunday the 14th, at 5:30PM

Come join tonight, Sunday, September 14th at 5:30 p.m. in the Lighthouse. Be part of following Geno’s sermon series on the Church’s call to the orphan. We will share a meal and discuss how to get involved in our ministry, the upcoming events, and pray for the current and future foster and adoptive parents in our midst. The main dish will be provided; bring a side dish or dessert to share.

  5. Worship Night Tonight at 7PM …speaking to one another with…songs from the Spirit.

Come spend an extended time of worship and ministry this Friday, September 12th from 7-9:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome – invite your friends, former Hopites, and guests. We want to honor God and increase the praise going up from our planet to the One who is worthy of ALL praise.

Let’s prepare our hearts to spend this time in God’s presence: “Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:15-20
