The Hope Blog

What's new at Hope.

  1. Baptism

Some of the scriptures from Matt Ryniker’s Baptism Sermon this morning,

    Ephesians 4:4-6
    Romans 6:3-4
    Romans 3:23.  All have sinned
    1 John 1:8-9

    Romans 6:6-11
For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with,[a] that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin.

Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we will also live with him. For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again; death no longer has mastery over him. 10 The death he died, he died to sinonce for all; but the life he lives, he lives to God.

11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus.

  2. Matt’s Vision and Interview with Geno

    1 Corinthians 11:23

23 For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, 24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26 For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.

  3. FAM Fall Book Study

This fall, FAM (Hope’s Foster Adoptive Ministry) will be leading a book group during Family Night.

We will be reading Until Every Child is Home by Todd Chipman.

Joining this study is far from a commitment to taking kiddos into your home. This book explores why the church should care about orphan ministry. Todd Chipman discusses how foster care and adoption align with bringing the Gospel to a broken world. He explains the multiple support roles it takes for foster and adoptive parents to succeed and outlines how the church can step up into these roles.

Whether you are interested in foster care and adoption personally or are wondering why on earth people at Hope Chapel currently pursue it – come join us 🙂

Questions or RSVP – Contact Mandy aryniker@gmail.com

Family Night starts Sept 8, running Wednesday nights 6-7:30pm throughout the Fall.
